What Is the Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC?
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is a new high-performance Mustang developed through collaboration between Ford Racing's motorsports and road-car engineering teams. It sits above the naturally aspirated Mustang Dark Horse and uses a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 producing 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque.
Ford developed the Mustang Dark Horse SC alongside the Mustang GTD supercar and Mustang GT3 race car, applying lessons from motorsports to its powertrain, suspension, aerodynamics, braking, cooling, steering, and tire development. The result is a street-legal Mustang engineered with serious track capability.

At the center of the Mustang Dark Horse SC is a 5.2L supercharged cross-plane-crank V8 related to the engine used in the Mustang GTD. Ford rates the Dark Horse SC at 795 maximum horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque when using premium fuel.
Each engine is hand-assembled by a single technician at Ford's Dearborn Engine Plant. Power reaches the rear wheels through a 7-speed TREMEC dual-clutch transmission and a lightweight composite carbon-fiber driveshaft.

Aerodynamics Designed Around the Supercharged V8
The Dark Horse SC receives a redesigned front fascia created to increase engine and brake cooling while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency. A new aluminum hood incorporates hood pins and a large carbon-fiber vent.
Ford says the hood configuration can create approximately 2.5 times the downforce of the standard Dark Horse when the rain tray is removed for track use.
